Face to face support

Face to face support

The UK ARC welcomes ALMA users. In the early stages of operation we will provide face to face support for astronomers planning, scheduling or reducing ALMA observations. We can accomodate up to about 8 visitors at any one time and if necessary we will prioritise people processing ALMA data or undertaking major projects which are difficult to plan using the standard tools available at the time. See About UK ARC

for details of specialist support available.

We anticipate that most ALMA users will prefer to use their own laptops (we will provide screens etc.if wanted) as long as these meet the minimum requirements for using CASA

and other software. We will provide a local server and desktop machines, for astronomers who need more powerful processing or specialised software, subject to availability. If you would like to plan a visit please contact  alma@jb.man.ac.uk

The ARC is housed in the Alan Turing Building. Nearby hotels include Manchester Business SchoolDays InnIbis
