STFC consultation
Input to STFC advisory panels from prospective ALMA users
The UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has five Advisory Panels reporting to the Science Committee for Particle Physics, Astronomy and Nuclear Physics (PPAN). They are in the process of consulting the community in order to update the STFC roadmap, including support for ground-based facilities such as ALMA. Each panel is preparing a questionnaire as part of the consultation process, which can be completed by individuals or on behalf of organisations. An overview of the consultation process is given on the PPAN Advisory Panel web page along with links to draft strategy documents.
Prospective ALMA users might especially want to comment to the Near Universe and Far Universe Advisory Panels (NUAP, FUAP). The NUAP draft strategy documents and questionnaire are already available and the deadline to complete the questionnaire is 5 June 2009. The FUAP consultation is likely to follow soon after. These are associated with the Ground Based Facilities Review which has just opened consultation, deadline 31 July 2009.
