The first call for ALMA Early Science is expected to be made this November, with a deadline in early 2011. The UK ALMA Regional Centre will be holding a meeting during the week commencing 13 December. The exact dates have yet to be confirmed.
The first day of the meeting will start with an overview of the technical capabilities and potential science of ALMA in its initial configurations, followed by contributed talks on prospective projects. The second day will include tutorials on the ALMA Observing Tool (for proposal preparation and scheduling), the ALMA Observing Support Tool (simulations) and CASA. ARC staff will be available to answer questions on ALMA capabilities and there is room available for small groups to continue discussions and establish collaborations.
