Issues raised by the 25 participants in the CASA school

CASA issues

The tutorial used version 3.0

• Request for an external pager for 'help <task>' - the example shown was nicely-formatted web pages for MIRIAD which are identical to the embedded help.
• Request for a 'horizontal' mode for the Viewer for small screens
• Viewer print window appears off-screen on Macs
• AIPS-CASA cheat sheet wanted (and has just appeared on casaguides.nrao.edu)
• Gaincal 'p' mode messages erroneously refer to a&p (still the case in 3.0.1)
  
• The help for simdata does not describe all the output images etc. quite correctly

Workshop design issues

• Ascertain level of expertise of participants in advance and include a primer for people new to radio astronomy (e.g. one hour)
• Include a session on flagging and error diagnostics
• Demonstrate what happens (and how to recognise) if you get calibration "wrong"
