Early Science 2010-2011

Status of ALMA early science opportunties

The first call for proposals for ALMA is expected  late this year, for observations in 2011, subject to progress. More details are given at Early Science

In summary, we hope that about 16 antennas of the main array will be available at locations giving a resolution of up to 100 - 200 milli-arcsec and milli-Jansky sensitivity.  Receivers will be available in the 3, 1,3, 0.9 and 0.45 mm bands (3, 6, 7 and 9) and possibly other bands.  Further facilities may be available such as polarization observations of single fields and limited (pointed) mosaicing.
